POP What's New...

The Peace Center is a staunch advocate of promoting arts in the community. Offered as extensions of performances presented by The Peace Center, community outreach events vary from season to season. Recent outreach programs have included a comedy improvisation workshop with Second City, master classes with the Miami String Quartet and The Romeros, the Big Leap modern dance residency, an open rehearsal with piano quintet the 5 Browns, and a Question-and-Answer session with violin virtuoso Joshua Bell.

Creative Writing and Photography for High School Students

Bring your digital camera, your favorite pen and your imagination!

Let photographer Polly Gaillard and writer Heather Magruder show you the tricks of their trades. After you've played with light, perspective, imagery and more, you'll get to put your favorite words and images into a book of your own.

  • Dates: Thursdays, April 8-May 13, 2010
  • Time: 4pm-5:30pm

  • Tuition: $110 for six weeks

Creative Arts

Early arts and literacy skills will be practiced while exploring creative activities that parents and children can do together. Parents attend with children.
