We know that students learn in different ways, which is why the Peace Center proudly offers opportunities for educators to make connections with their curriculum in a creative and imaginative way – through exploring the arts. The Peace Center’s Intensive Development in Education through the Arts (IDEA) program provides innovative arts education training for educators at all grade levels.
Professional development at the Peace Center provides opportunities for teachers to attend a variety of events led by nationally-recognized and local teaching artists who share practical and effective strategies for integrating drama, music, visual art, creative writing, poetry and creative movement into teaching all subjects.
These arts-integrated strategies engage students in learning, helping them to be more creative thinkers, more free and open to express themselves and ultimately making a deep and personal connection to what they are learning in school.
