No matter the subject, performing and visual arts can be powerful teaching tools. When material is presented in creative ways, students make meaningful connections to the curriculum and become actively engaged learners. Arts integrated teaching strategies continue to produce amazing results in classrooms across the country.

The Peace Center is committed to bringing the Upstate the best that the arts have to offer education through curriculum-based performances and nationally-recognized professional development programs for teachers. Educators who attend performances through the Peace Outreach Program have access to study guides designed to support South Carolina curriculum standards and maximize each student’s experience at The Peace Center. Professional development workshops offer teachers training that truly demonstrates how the arts can be integrated into every facet of a school day, including classroom management, instruction and assessment.

All year long, The Peace Center expands beyond the public performance series to provide workshops, master classes, lectures and other events that help audiences explore the arts in powerful ways.

Teachers, come join us at The Peace Center and shine a spotlight on learning!
