Greenville County Youth Orchestra
Greenville County Youth Orchestras (GCYO) is dedicated to providing orchestral music education opportunities for the youth of Greenville County. For students in our orchestras we provide a quality, orchestral program for school age musicians where they can learn the art of orchestral performance, enhance their personal music skills, grow as individuals, and learn the importance of "sharing their gift." For the community we provide music education and outreach events as well as exceptional, near professional concerts.
GCYO consists of five orchestras that meet late afternoons and evenings during the school year. Each provides outstanding educational and performing opportunities for skilled and motivated students. It's usual season features three concerts by GCYO's flagship performing organization, the Young Artist Orchestra at the Peace Center's Dorothy Gunter Theater, two School District orchestra concerts held at Wade Hampton High School, and the Peace Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall which feature all groups of the GCYO.
