Debussy:  Printemps
Stravinsky:  The Firebird Suite (1919 Version)

Pure enchantment results when art is music’s muse.  Hindemith describes the religious fervor and divine serenity of Mattias Grünewald’s famous altar paintings.  Debussy’s beautiful homage to spring found its source in Botticelli’s Primavera, inspired by a Russian folktale. Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite sizzles with explosions of passion that build into its grand finale.
