Check out The Spartanburg Herald-Journal's article about tonight's NCCO performance:
San Francisco's premier conductorless ensemble, the
Grammy®-nominated New Century Chamber Orchestra relies on the virtuosic skill of each individual - instead of a baton - to achieve its improvisatory sound, with power, color and precision.
Acclaimed violinist Salerno-Sonnenberg and the 19-member chamber orchestra, of which she is the music director and concertmaster, will grace the Peace Concert Hall stage with a diverse program of classic works and rarely-heard gems.
Works to be performed include Symphony No. 10 in B minor (Mendelssohn), Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 (Villa Lobos), and Metamorphosen (R. Strauss).
This performance is part of the season's The Place for Everyone series.
Tickets: $10, $25, $35
