DESCRIPTION:Kenny Wayne Shepherd caught the world's attention as a teenage blues prodigy. Now, a respected master, he returns to the album that started it all, Ledbetter Heights. Shepherd re-recorded this landmark first album in honor of its 30th anniversary and launched a national tour. This show includes a performance of the full 12-track album along with another set featuring highlights from his 30-year career. Ledbetter Heights is named in honor of an historic neighborhood in Shepherd’s hometown that pays homage to another blues great and Northwest Louisiana native, Huddie Ledbetter. Signed at 16, Shepherd recorded Ledbetter Heights while he was in high school. He went to school Monday through Wednesday and then drove to Memphis to track the album. Kenny Wayne Shepherd has released 12 records and counting, and he performs with The Rides, a supergroup of him, Stephen Stills, and Barry Goldberg.
