Vaughn Newman

Vaughn Newman began dancing at William Penn Arts Charter and continued his formal dance training at Freedom Theater, PHILADANCO (Philadelphia Dance Company), and New World School of the Arts. He has performed with Momentum Dance Company and Brazz Dance Theater in Miami, Florida.

In 2018, Newman opened The Studio to offer professional dance instruction to the Upstate, and it is the home of Vaughn Newman Dance, Greenville’s premier contemporary dance company. The studio provides two arts outreach programs, ADAM Arts and ZAKI African Drum & Dance Ensemble. Designed for underserved youth, ADAM (Acting | Dance | Art | Music) Arts combines multi-disciplinary instruction and showcases youth development in theater, dance, visual art, and music. ZAKI African Drum & Dance Ensemble provides authentic West African Dance and educational programs to local and national audiences of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
