Welcome to Song Sessions, your singer-songwriter concert series in The Mockingbird. Led by Nashville musician and Greenville fan favorite Maia Sharp, these intimate sessions of stories and songs feature a rotating lineup of guest songwriters each month. This is the place to be for anyone who deeply connects with music and enjoys tales about the musician's life.
Maia Sharp is an acclaimed songwriter whose work has been recorded by artists including Bonnie Raitt, The Chicks, Cher, and Trisha Yearwood. She has released nine solo albums, collaborated with Art Garfunkel and Buddy Mondlock, and performs with her duo Roscoe & Etta. An adjunct professor at NYU and longtime collaborator with Songwriting With: Soldiers, her latest album Tomboy was released in September 2025.
There are songwriters who chronicle life, and then there’s David Wilcox—an artist who metabolizes it. He has long been a quiet force in American folk music: a musician’s musician, a writer’s writer, and a seeker whose gift lies in making the personal feel universal.

Veteran singer/songwriter and Greenville native Edwin McCain had his major-label breakout in the mid-'90s with Honor Among Thieves. His songs “I’ll Be” and “I Could Not Ask For More” landed on Top 40 charts. He returns to the Peace Center for this intimate concert with his friend, Maia Sharp.
