Welcome to Song Sessions, your singer-songwriter concert series in The Mockingbird. Led by Nashville musician and Greenville fan favorite Maia Sharp, these intimate sessions of stories and songs feature a rotating lineup of guest songwriters each month. This is the place to be for anyone who deeply connects with music and enjoys tales about the musician's life.
Maia Sharp is an acclaimed songwriter whose work has been recorded by artists including Bonnie Raitt, The Chicks, Cher, and Trisha Yearwood. She has released nine solo albums, collaborated with Art Garfunkel and Buddy Mondlock, and performs with her duo Roscoe & Etta. An adjunct professor at NYU and longtime collaborator with Songwriting With: Soldiers, her latest album Tomboy was released in September 2025.
Sought-after collaborator Kim Richey has penned No. 1 hits for Radney Foster (“Nobody Wins”) and Trisha Yearwood (“Believe Me Baby (I Lied)”)—the latter earning her a Grammy nomination for Best Country Song—as well as songs for Mary Chapin Carpenter, Patty Loveless, and Brooks and Dunn.
Matraca Berg is a Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee and one of country music's most celebrated songwriters, with more than 100 recorded songs by artists including Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, and Kenny Chesney. Her award-winning catalog includes the CMA Song of the Year "Strawberry Wine," cementing her legacy as one of Music City's most influential hitmakers.
With musical support from Katie Larson, a member of The Accidentals. The Accidentals appear as supporting musicians on more than 100 albums and opened for such names as Brandi Carlile, Martin Sexton, Guster, Moon Hooch, and Keller Williams.
