Blues-rock powerhouse Gov’t Mule will perform at the Peace Center April 11. The band, led by Allman Brothers band alum and Asheville native Warren Haynes, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a lengthy tour and a series of archival recordings.

Tickets for the Peace Center performance are $35-$45, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 27.

Gov’t Mule began as a side project for Haynes and the late Allen Woody, his bandmate in the Allman Brothers Band, and drummer Matt Abts. After Woody’s death in 2000, the band expanded its roster and is now a four-piece, with bassist Jorgen Carlsson and multi-instrumentalist Danny Louis.

The band’s extensive catalog includes “Dark Side of the Mule,” which blends Pink Floyd classics with Gov’t Mule’s own compositions, and “Sco-Mule,” a collaboration with jazz guitarist John Scofield.
