HOT NIGHTS. COOL SHOWS.

The official launch of summer is just a few short weeks away, but we’re ready for fun in the sun right now. With expansion construction completed, the Peace Center has emerged bigger and better than ever. All venues are open, fully operational, and booked with killer shows perfect for celebrating the sunniest time of year.

Our big news right now is that The Pavilion stage lineup for your outdoor concerts is *chef’s kiss*.  It’s been a minute, so remember you can BYOC (bring your own chair) for the lawn and get drinks at our onsite bars. If you want the comfort of the indoors but full access to the open-air concert experience, there’s the covered VIP section for The Pavilion in Genevieve’s.

Summer just got a whole lot cooler at the Peace Center. Let’s take a look at who’s coming up on The Pavilion stage.

Coming To The Pavilion

Robert Cray - Hot Nights Cool Shows.pngTalk about a legend. Robert Cray’s been a humble king of blues, R&B, rock, and soul fusion since the 70s. He’s shared the stage with greats like The Stones, Muddy Waters, Clapton, John Lee Hooker, and Tina Turner. The Robert Cray Band’s discography includes 20 albums with millions of records sold. Five GRAMMYs and a Lifetime Achievement Award to his name, and Robert Cray still packs every performance with his enthusiastic, authentic love for music. The band performs May 3, so you only have a little bit of time left to get tickets to see this guitar hero in action. Tickets for The Robert Cray Band are still available.

Band factoid: Before he became famous, Robert Cray played as the bassist for Otis Day’s band in the movie Animal House.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - Hot Nights Cool Shows.png

Let’s get ready to jump and jive, Greenville. The SoCal swingers of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy made musical history when they leapt onto the 90s swing-revival music scene with “You & Me & The Bottle Makes Three” and “Go-Daddy-O". They’ve been rolling ever since. Their sound thrums with high-energy drumming and plenty of hip-rocking horns. Bring your dancing shoes for this one. Snag your tickets today early!

Band factoid: A young Scotty Morris, founder of the band, once saw blues legend Albert Collins. After the show, he asked Collins to sign his show poster. “To Scotty,” Collins wrote, “the big bad voodoo daddy.” And that's how the band got its name.

Cowboy Junkies - Hot nights cool shows.png

It’s going to feel good to chill some this summer, and there’s no better concert for that than the Cowboy Junkies. Their calm, melodic breakthrough album, The Trinity Sessions, threw the jangling guitar alt-rock scene of the 80s into a tailspin. The record featured frontwoman Margo Timmins on an ambisonic microphone, which gave her vocals a haunting, watery beauty unlike anyone singing at the time. Their slowed-down cover of “Sweet Jane” made them famous overnight, and the Cowboy Junkies have been exploring alternative rock, country, and folk rock for the last three decades. Their dreamy, catchy, captivating music holds audiences in thrall to this day. Come enjoy the show get your tickets today.

Band factoid: The Cowboy Junkies include the three Timmins siblings—Margo (vocals), Peter (drums), and Michael (guitar, songwriter)--and Michael’s best friend since kindergarten, Alan Anton (bass). So, to say this band has been together for life isn’t much of an exaggeration.

Andy Frasco.png

After chilling out with the Cowboy Junkies, it’ll be time to party down with funky jam bands Andy Frasco & the U.N. and Kitchen Dwellers. The two festival-famous musical outfits are known for a raucous good time onstage, with Andy Frasco & The U.N. being particularly well known for their onstage instrument “battles” of one musician trying to outplay another. Montana-based Kitchen Dwellers deliver expansive progressive roots music that’s a little bit bluegrass, a shake of folk, and a dash of psychedelic 70s realness. Think of this concert as a micro festival at The Pavilion. The groups are joined by reggae up-and-comer Mihali, who just released his third album and has performed on songs with Citizen Cope, G. Love, and Matisyahu.

Band factoid: G. Love has featured Andy Frasco & The U.N., Kitchen Dwellers, and Mihali all on separate songs.
