Program
Edvard Grieg: Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op.16
Guest
Spencer Myer, piano
This concerto begins with an epic set of chords, taking you on sonic journey that has practically defined the Romantic period in music history. It’s high highs and heart-breaking lows are what so many of us crave when we come to the concert hall. Edvard Grieg was just 24 years old when he wrote his concerto in A minor, which has become one of the most famous works for piano and orchestra of all time, and the only one Grieg himself would ever complete.
