Ben Weston

Ben Weston is originally from Jamaica, where hand drumming is central to many cultural traditions and an integral part of Jamaican music. He began drumming around 1990 and has been playing ever since, with a focus on West African drums, rhythms, and culture since 2008. He is a Certified Associate Instructor with Tam Tam Mandingue Djembe Academy (TTM) Winston-Salem, a branch of the TTM international school of West African drumming. In Greenville, he offers group and private classes, conducts workshops and presentations, and leads his students in community performances. He is also a drum accompanist for West African and modern dance classes at the SC Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities and the principle Master Drummer for ZAKI African Drum & Dance Ensemble and ADAM Arts outreach programs.
