Charitable Gift Planning

The Peace Center is committed to presenting the world’s finest performers, provide arts education and outreach, and support local arts organizations.  Philanthropy is central to delivering this promise to our community.  You can make a gift directly to the Peace Center or through a gift instrument that can provide tax benefits and even lifetime income.

Learn how to make a gift that provides lifetime income, tax benefits, efficient ways to transfer assets to heirs while making a gift to the Peace Center, or allows you to retain control of all your assets during life.

Below are some gift options that donors like you have used to impact the mission of the Peace Center.  Your personal and philanthropic goals should determine which gift(s) work for you.  With your help, we can make a lasting impact on the future of live arts and entertainment in the Upstate.

Ways to Give

There are many ways for you to plan a gift to the Peace Center:

Gifts That Provide You Income

Charitable Remainder Trust

You transfer cash, or ideally, appreciated stock or property to fund a charitable remainder trust.  You will receive a charitable deduction from the gift, receive lifetime income from the trust, and name the Peace Center Foundation as the remainder beneficiary.  You will receive lifetime income, and the Peace Center will receive a meaningful gift at your death.

Charitable Gift Annuity

You transfer cash, or ideally, appreciated property such as stock to the Peace Center in exchange for annual fixed payments for the rest of your life.  Payout rates are based on your age, and a portion of the annual income payments to you are tax free!  Plus, you will receive a charitable deduction for your gift.

Gifts That Help Now

IRA Charitable Rollover

Transfer all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD) to the Peace Center and reduce your income tax.  You must be aged 70 ½ or older, and you may contribute up to $100,000 of your RMD directly to the Peace Center.

Donor Advised Fund (DAF)

You make a gift to a DAF and subsequently make charitable gift recommendations during your lifetime.  You can also name the Peace Center the beneficiary of your DAF or allow your heirs to continue to make gifts from your account.

Charitable Lead Trust

You fund a trust that makes annual gifts to the Peace Center for a number of years.  Your family would receive the trust remainder at substantial tax savings. The trust remainder can also go into a trust for the benefit of your children or grandchildren.
