Jonny Lang with Special Guest Doyle Bramhall II
Peace Concert Hall
Since the release of his debut album, Grammy® Award winner Jonny Lang has built a reputation as one of the best live performers and guitarists of his generation. In 1997, at age 15, the blues guitarist and singer came screaming into mainstream radio with the chart-topping hit “Lie to Me.” Since then, he has toured with The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and Sting.
Lang’s most recent studio album, Signs, topped Billboard’s Blues Albums chart. Signs is not merely a return to the artist's guitar-based beginnings, but an embodiment of an even more elemental sound. Beyond focusing attention on his soloing prowess, it is about recapturing the spirit of the early blues, where the guitar was front and center. Lang has reaffirmed his commitment to the blues and the guitar without sacrificing the modern approach that makes him such a singular artist.
Doyle Bramhall II
A rare and distinctive guitarist who plays left-handed but with his instrument strung for a right-hander and flipped backward, Doyle Bramhall II is the guitar hero’s hero. The son of Stevie Ray Vaughan drummer Doyle Bramhall I, the younger Bramhall played with legends Roger Waters, Vaughan, and Eric Clapton. Bramhall II continued to collaborate with Clapton for more than a decade.
In addition to a solo career, Bramhall II has recorded and toured with B.B. King, Elton John, Gregg Allman, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Sheryl Crow, Arc Angels, T-Bone Burnett, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi, Gary Clark, Jr., Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Billy Preston, Erykah Badu, Questlove, and Meshell Ndegeocello.
